First off, Captain Jack was excellent as was the Doctor. But Jacobi and Simm stole the episode for me.
And i must correct you Julia, it's not the heart of the TARDIS that rose was filled with, twas the power of the Time Vortex itself. The TARDIS just opened up the power to Rose, as it was the only way to defeat the daleks. As for the Doctor, he explained it pretty well, Rose being human had little control over the power and would have burned her, had the Doctor not stepped in. Being a Time Lord he would be ideally placed to control the power with more precision. Some have speculated that a Time Lord wouldn't burn themselves to a crisp if they kept the Vortex power within them for a long peroid of time. Only after putting the power back would they need to regenerate, as with the power they'd be able to keep themselves alive and do Vengeful Time Lordy things in a god like manner.
Though i'm wondering if the Doctor is going to resort to becoming a vengeful God to sort out the Masters mess, we've had lonely god references and Doctor 9 telling the slitheen that he wouldn't make a very good God. I think Jack is immortal, but needs to recharge if he gets killed too many times i.e. when he faced off abbadon. The Doctor said Jack was a fixed point in time and space, which to a Time Lord is wrong (also gives em stomach ache by the sounds of it). So Jack is something other than human, but not quite a Time Lord. Only 2 more episodes until we find out.
My money's on the Face of Boe being Rassilion, who faked his death on gallifrey, ran off to the isop galaxy and disguised himself as a giant head. I need to lay off the fanwank beer.
