Adventures in a place away from home

The weekend before last we headed down to Wiltshire to visit His Lordship's Bezzie Mate, his wife and their little baby (aww.)

Because the weather was so nice on the Saturday we went to visit Lacock. Some of you may recognise it from such films as Harry Potter and the One with David Tennant In and Harry Potter and the Last One. We didn't actually go to Lacock Abbey (aka Hogwarts) as it was something like £6 for an adult.

Ex-Cheddar (aka Welsh Rarebit) looked resplendant in pink sunhat and matching Threadless t-shirt (because like Mummy ex-Cheddar is a big fan of all things Threadless). (The t-shirt says: So far, this is the oldest I've ever been)

His Lordship always has to push the pushchair, it makes random women flock to him, it's a thing to see.

I really like this picture, just a shame I got a bit of flagpole in shot.

There were two jewellery fairs on in Lacock, I was in geeky heaven. I was checking out the handmade silver jewellery and the fused glass stuff. I've got loads of inspiration. Woot.

A little ford. How quaint is that!

The ford from another angle. Oh this place is so quintessentially English. I loves it.

We went for cream teas at a tea room which in a past life had been C12th hunting lodge. It did do some really nice decaffeinated tea and salmon and cucumber sandwiches.

This little fella was being ever so nosy:

Look at his cheeky over the shoulder look.

The lodge:

The buildings were brilliant, all rickety and wooden beams and wattle and daub. Aces.

There was a little independent soap and smellies shop, His Lordship bought this. Read the text, he had to :D

Best part of theday was having my first 99 ice cream in over a year. It was delicious and flakey!

He was so friendly. I bet he would have stolen the sandwich off my plate had he been a little bit bigger.

Lacock! I've only ever been there in the dead of winter. Pretty then too. One of the pubs does famous pies, omnomnom.

I'll have to go back to find the nomnomnom!pies.
