Saturday Evening Telly insta-reaction

Proper illustrated review thing to come tomorrow.

Dear Steven Moffat

Thanks for making me scared of a) children in gas masks, b) clockwork robots in masks, c) weeping angels. And NOW skellingtons in spacesuit and MY OWN SHADOW!!! I'm never going to leave the house at this rate.

No love
Me

In other 4x08 news:
[x] Ten is going to have to spend some time with River in order for her to fill up her suspiciously TARDIS-looking diary. Does this mean that we may get Alex Kingston as a companion in the future? Because that would be so completely brilliant!
[x] I have have this sneaking suspicion that this double episode will be setting the stage for the Moffat!tenure. I have no evidence of this, I feel it in my (ooooold) bones.
[x] The 'present day' house - completely furnished by IKEA? I was sat there going "That's from IKEa, so's that, and that, and that..."

*eyes the shadow in the corner suspiciously*

I'd picked out Jodie and Jessie as my two favourites in the audition stages so I was very pleased when they ended up as the final two. And yay Jodie for winning!

Marshall! Marshall from Alias!! (ILU Kevin Weisman)
I'm really enjoying the show at the moment. I hope it can keep up the momentum (although I'm not a fan of Adam Baldwin's hairhat in it.)

I did the Ikea spotting too. It's clearly a theme cos Torchwood shop there too. And I very nearly ruined the lovely scene at the end of Gridlock by shouting 'ooh, I've got those chairs, only in blue!'

Moff is king of making you scared of things you'd forgotten you were scared of. I only saw it on the iPlayer but plan to watch the repeat tomorrow in the dark for full panic effect.

Could not stand Pirate Jessie so was dead chuffed when Jodie won. Especially as Cameron Mackintosh had spent the whole show trying to manipulate it to being Jessie and thus looked like a complete twat. :)

I lol whenever I see all the IKEA ornaments on the TARDIS console. I an't help myself.

Jodie was the Blackpool lass yes?

I saw the auditions and fell in love with her.

Didn't actually watch the show but glad she won.

Makes up for My Fave, Keith jack, losing last year.

Never got the Clockwork fear, but Yes on all the other Moff Monsters.

It was more that it was a monster under the bed more than anything. Plus masks in general seriously freak me out. (and seemingly the Moff too considering they've featured in three out of four stories.

I'm not sure whether I should be worried that you can spot IKEA merchandise.

O YAY DUST MOTES IN SUNBEAMS MEAN THAT YOU'RE GOING TO BE EATEN ALIVE. WHAT FUN.

[points at giggles at icon] Ahem

I see the dust mites in sunbeams as this - they help clean off your dead skin, because you obviously need lots to completely strip the body of flesh.

I THINK I WILL BE SLEEPING WITH THE LIGHTS ON TONIGHT, YIS.

[identity profile] --kali--.livejournal.com 2008-06-01 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'M NEVER SLEEPING AGAIN!

I'm going to stop turning off the lights to save energy.

Agreed but Moffat has done all my favorite eps :)

I'm so glad Jodie won! I liked her from the beginning when she was dragging her now fiance around to auditions on their dates, LOL.

Once again Mr Moffat has left me spooked, but I loved River and I'm all curious about what she got up to with the Doctor. I can't wait for next week. And is this the end of Donna? I'm not sure...
