Oh El Jay :/

LiveJournal have finally made a statement about deleting and purging accounts that they've been going on about for ages. However, it doesn't appear to be all good news.

If you have a journal that's not been logged into or updated for over 24 months it will be purged and the ground salted. (This means my original journal, that I lost the password for will be gone). The usernames will then become available for you to create/rename.

Via [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo: they were going to delete all the comments belonging to a journal that's been deleted and purged, but they seem to have changed their mind about it. And a further update

What about those journals that belong to deceased people?

Oh LiveJournal, why don't you think these things through before you go and do them?

I really wish they'd sort of out the comment notification problem (when you make a post and turn the comment notifications off, you no longer get notifications when someone replies to a comment you've made in said post like you once did, if that makes sense). It hasn't been working since before Christmas and they don't even mention the problem anymore. So sick of it.
