Poor Bilbo :(

First off, Small-Faced Kitten is no longer a member of our household. His people moved out last Wednesday an actually took him with them. I hope they've got some nice new neighbours who will look after him and mother him and give him leftovers.

It makes me a bit emo to come down for a drink during the night and not have him all curled up on the computer chair. There ill be a Small-Faced Kitten pic!spam at some point this week in honour of him.

I am glad to see the back of his noisy people though. The new neighbours seem nice enough. Only seen them from a distance. They apparently have a Staffie (although I've not heard a peep out of it) and a cat. Bilbo spends most of his time sat on the dividing fence looking grumpy and going "get orf my laaaaaaaaahnd!"

In other Bilbo news, Mr Bilbs has lost his voice. it started on Friday, when he miowed it sounded like his voice was breakin and by Saturday he sounded like a duck and by Sunday he was going "..." He was still eating and sleeping and had no eye or nose gack it was just weird. So I told His Lordship that if it hasn't started coming back by Monday we'd get him booked into the V E T S.

His Lordship had Monday and Tuesday off and was given the important task of booking the V E T S. I hoped he'd take him in Tuesday morning so if Bilbo did have to stay in he'd only have to stay in during the day rather than overnight. But no, His lordship got him an appointment for 5.50pm this evening because, (and I quote) "You need to get him into the catbox. I can't do it, he'll try and claw my face off." Yeah, because Bilbo won't try and do that to me :/

So I rushed in a 5.05pm this evening (I had to leave for antenatal yoga at 5.15pm)
Me: "Where's Bilbo?"
HL: "He was whining so I fed him and he's gone out."
Me: "So he's full and has no incentive to come in. Brilliant."

Luckily he was only in the back garden so I was able to coax him in.

Then he saw the cat box
Bilbo: "...!"
And made a run for the at flap (which I'd locked, because I have a great more presence of mind than His lordship, obviously
Bilbo: *bangs head against the cat flap*

Long story short, I manage to get him in the cat box with little trouble (although he went very big and squirmy, and A MIRACLE! his voice came back too) and managed to get to my yoga class on time. His Lordship took Bilbo to the V E T S.

The V E T says that his fat lip is absolutely nothing to worry about. Apparently it's quite normal in (stupid) cats, but if the skin goes hard to bring him in right away.

As for his loss of voice, the V E T couldn't give a diagnosis, his chest and airways are clear so it's not FIV or an upper respiratory problem and there's nothing stuck in his throat. (The V E T must have been very brave to have a look down there) and he said that Bilbo should be back to his normal vocal self in a week or so.

His Lordship, so traumatised by having to take Bilbo to the V E T S by himself then came home without paying. So I'll need to pop in after work tomorrow and sort that out (and get some worming drops at the same time - well, he's already pissed off with him I might as well worm him too. (Bilbo, not His Lordship))

Bilbo's still sat on the shed looking fluffy and grumpy. Poor old Bilbo. (Hey it's his seventh birthday next week, he's a proper middle aged cat now, he's going to have to start having 'senior' cat food now!)

In non Bilbo news,

Hey HMV! Where's my copy of The Resistance? There's DVD extras I want to be watching. And I'm sure muse.mu are getting annoyed with my continual streaming of it off their site.

LOL at his lordship leaving without paying. Bless his heart!

That's how stressy Bilbo makes him. I'm obviously the cold heartless one, because not only do I remember to pay, I also buy flea and worming drops too.

lol I'm like that. Posie's recent trips to the vets nearly had me coming away with a new set of nail clippers for her before I decided that since she's probably going to die soon it wouldn't be a good investment.

The vet people think I'm seriously cool headed. I'm honestly not, I just find it easier to think about that than how I'll cope when she actually does die

*waves sadly at Minters* Bye Minters. I will always laugh at your subtle food stealing ways...

And poor Bilbs. Although I would have laughed heartily at him quacking like a duck.

Podge needs some riot gear for xmas then he'll have no problems with cat related issues.

Thing is though, if you stick a towel over Bilbo it's really easy to get him in the cat box. His Lordship is a wuss.

I miss that little black and white cat so much.

"I might as well worm him too. (Bilbo, not His Lordship)"

What the heck, may as well do His Lordship, too ;)
