Annual Panto Meet-up 2010 - UPDATE!

Sorry for the delay in posting/organising this, I've been a bit swamped with RL stuff.

Anyhoo.

The results of the poll were for either Tuesday 28th December or Wednesday 29th December.

Best seats Tuesday Row J
Best seats Wednesday Row K
Tickets are £27.50 (plus a £2.80 per ticket booking fee)

(These were from the website, as I'm booking more than 10 tickets I'll have to ring them and I'll ask if we can be split up into 4/5/6's in order to get further forward)

Personally I think Wednesday may be the better day in terms of travelling up and down. I don't know what sort of flights will be running on the Monday (as that would be technically a bank holiday) but Tuesday should be business as usual.

Thoughts?

I will buy tickets for members of my flist and their friends. Everyone else will have to buy their own, sorry.

So I'll be getting tickets for:
me
[livejournal.com profile] nogbad
[livejournal.com profile] steviesun
[livejournal.com profile] doylefan22
[livejournal.com profile] lm_jillybean
[livejournal.com profile] nacbrie
[livejournal.com profile] flipbfc
[livejournal.com profile] kharma2815
Piper + 3
Total (so far): 12

If you want to join us let me know by Wednesday and I'll book the tickets Wednesday afternoon.

Once the tickets are bought I'll start looking at hotels. If we can find a nice little Travelodge or the like in the city centre we may be able to get some nice cheap rooms. Can't look at flights until the air timetables are done in March (Currently they only go up to October).

The Annual Panto Meet-up 2010

Barely have we got home from the last (100% Barrowman-free!) panto, and here I am looking to organise the next one. Ahem.

John is appearing in Aladdin at the SECC in Glasgow

Let me know which days you are interested in by using this handly little poll:

[Poll #1505220]

At the moment there are tickets available for these dates varying from Row C backwards. Front stalls tickets cost £27.50.

Currently interested in going are:
Me
[livejournal.com profile] nogbad
[livejournal.com profile] steviesun
[livejournal.com profile] doylefan22
(I can't remember if anyone else definitely said yes to going on Monday or not)

Once we've got the date sorted I'll start investigating hotels, flights, trains etc.

Randomosity and Cats

[x] In traumatic cat news, I have discovered today that Small-faced Kitten's people have put their house up for sale. Soon I no can haz a Small-faced Kitten. This fill me with woes. (His Lordship points out that they care so little for him that they'll as likely leave him behind when they move and we get a new cat). ETA: Apparently it is now 'sale agreed' :(

[x] Skience from the BBC: Cats use their mews to manipulate us. Later, news that the Pope's Catholic.

[x] From this, I will have to video Bilbo when we open a tin of tuna, because that's him manipulating at his very best.

[x] Via [livejournal.com profile] sal101010: Guess the film from one letter of the Movie Poster - another time suck from Empire. I got 18. I could have done so much better. If His Lordship gets less than 30 I'll be shocked. Shocked!

[x] John Barrowman has a lovely pair of pins.

[x] Pegg and frost talk Paul.

[x] A gallery of engineering oops

[x] In other news, Lovefilm are sending out Blu-Ray discs with a new protective covering on the disks (because Blu-Rays are well expensive). Unfortunately they don't seem to work in PS3s (well ours at least) which stubbornly refuse to read the disk at all.

Randomosity

Various links from around my flist:

The 10 Most Amazing Ghost towns

Screech from Saved by the Bell is writing a tell-all book. I can't believe that it was all sex and drigs and rock 'n' roll on SbtB.

Harvey Kietel IS Gene Hunt, apparently - I've still not seen the US pilot. I think it's for the best.

John Barrowman IS Captain America? maybe, possibly - LOL, but no. But LOL.

Over on YouTube - John Barrowman and Naoko Mori sing highlights from Miss Saigon - Gareth David-Lloyd just looks a bit bemused sat in the middle of them. Bless him.

[livejournal.com profile] thefannishwaldo liveblogs the Doctor Who panel at the SD Comic Con. Interesting to note that Russell T Davies is writing the Torchwood scripts and the Moff is writing the first script of S5.

According to the Sun Freema's ruined Torchwood and RTD has crossed her off his Christmas list.
I did have a big rant attached to this about people slagging off Freema's acting, about how her acting is better than a lot of what passes for acting on Hollyoaks, still learning her trade, how it is required that you love Crossroads if you're a Brummie and how she can't be all that bad if she's getting jobs in loads of other things (unlike Emma Watson, who I've seen her compared to recently), but LJ crashed and it only saved the links in the drafts so it's a rant that's lost now to the mists of time. Which is probably for the best.

And a quick thing on Bonekickers:
Do they only have a £10 budget for the sets? I've been caving in and around Avon/Witshire and I've never seen any bright red caves dusted in gold glitter. I must have been going to the wrong caves, obviously.

For all its massive faults - I still can't stop watching it though.

The Panto Meet-up is ON!!

REJOICE FOR THERE WILL BE A THIRD ANNUAL PANTO MEET-UP!!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] seti_drd I've discovered that John is doing Panto at the Hippodrome in Birmingham! YES Birmingham! YES LESS THAN FORTY MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE!!!!

And so close I'll be going more than once! WIN!

So flistees who will be most likely going (i.e. [livejournal.com profile] steviesun, [livejournal.com profile] doylefan22, [livejournal.com profile] kharma2815, [livejournal.com profile] morbid_sparks) when would be the best time to go? I agree with charlotte, we should do it pre-christmas but that only gives us 22nd December and His Lordship is having his 30th birthday then. Woes. So post-christmas?

ETA: OMG! You've all got to go to the best takeaway in the WORLD! aka Mr Egg afterwards.

The Sound of Musicals

If you've been watching The Sound of Musicals and you loved it, write to the BBC and let them know. Hopefully if enough of us do so they'll make some more.

John on The Wright Stuff

There's sexy accent issues and he's so, so angry about the 'fixing'

John on GMTV and This Morning

20 votes! 20 votes! That's all that split him from David Seaman in the 'race' for the Skate off. It's quite upsetting to think that we could have saved him.

Impressively his manages to stay professional even when Fiona Phillips is slagging off Kelly Holmes...

Lorraine Kelly manages to trigger his Scottish accent in about 2 seconds and he keeps it for the majority of the interview much to my amusement.

Dancing on Ice

To be honest I think us fans got complacent - he's done so well up to now and tonight's performance was good. Even I only voted the once for him. :( I'm gutted. (And trying to sound grown up about this too). I've done a lot of bitching at His Lordship though.

However, from the sounds of things all the contestants will be back for the last show, so hopefully John and Olga haven't skated their last just yet.

You were fantastic... )

John Barrowman on The 5 o'Clock Show

It is a match made in heaven. I can't get over how *little* the hammster is when stood next to normally tall people. Bless him. Although I very nearly missefd this due to one of our many powercuts.

The Sound of Musicals

I'm loving this show so much!!!

On the subject of Musicals and stuff, tickets for The Producers have been reduced to £30 as part of the Get Into London Theatre campaign. There are 100 shows in total with reduced tickets from £15-£30.

I'm feeling a theatre trip coming on.

OMG!!

OMGJohn!!!

The only annoying thing is that His Lordship switched the Sky from 16:9 to 4:3 so the musicals are all stubby. Grrrrrr.
