Various links from around my flist:

The 10 Most Amazing Ghost towns

Screech from Saved by the Bell is writing a tell-all book. I can't believe that it was all sex and drigs and rock 'n' roll on SbtB.

Harvey Kietel IS Gene Hunt, apparently - I've still not seen the US pilot. I think it's for the best.

John Barrowman IS Captain America? maybe, possibly - LOL, but no. But LOL.

Over on YouTube - John Barrowman and Naoko Mori sing highlights from Miss Saigon - Gareth David-Lloyd just looks a bit bemused sat in the middle of them. Bless him.

[livejournal.com profile] thefannishwaldo liveblogs the Doctor Who panel at the SD Comic Con. Interesting to note that Russell T Davies is writing the Torchwood scripts and the Moff is writing the first script of S5.

According to the Sun Freema's ruined Torchwood and RTD has crossed her off his Christmas list.
I did have a big rant attached to this about people slagging off Freema's acting, about how her acting is better than a lot of what passes for acting on Hollyoaks, still learning her trade, how it is required that you love Crossroads if you're a Brummie and how she can't be all that bad if she's getting jobs in loads of other things (unlike Emma Watson, who I've seen her compared to recently), but LJ crashed and it only saved the links in the drafts so it's a rant that's lost now to the mists of time. Which is probably for the best.

And a quick thing on Bonekickers:
Do they only have a £10 budget for the sets? I've been caving in and around Avon/Witshire and I've never seen any bright red caves dusted in gold glitter. I must have been going to the wrong caves, obviously.

For all its massive faults - I still can't stop watching it though.

It's a bit sad that I found Naoko's voice TEN TIMES more charming in that snippet than I did when I saw her in Avenue Q... Ah well! You're spot on that Gareth is secretly the best part of the clip. :D

I love Miss Saigon and am a bit sad I never saw either of them in the show.

I've never seen the show at all! I had a chance to see it once, years ago on a trip to NYC when I was 11 or so, but I chose to stay and check out the Metropolitcan Museum of Art instead. WHAT A BONEHEAD. ;)

That ghost towns link is all kinds of awesome.

I'm pissed off with Freema because I really wanted to see her in Torchwood again and now she's ruined the set up at the end of DW. Boo. :(

And I also cannot quite bring myself to watch the US LoM pilot. It's just not right.

I am ignoring the existence of the Americanised LoM. Really, I think Sam needed recast more than Gene did *snuggles John Simm*

I saw the trailer and that was enough for me. There's only one Sam and Gene Genie!

Born in 1989, and growing up in the 90's with SBtB as my religion, it really would be a crime if I didn't read Screech's book. I'm not going to lie, I'll read it. Though, knowing the tricks of the book trade from my time in the depths of WHSmith, I shall wait for the paperback...

I'm not sure whether to be mad at Freema or not. I think not, as she shouldn't be chained the the DW/TW brand, and good for her for getting a bit of variety into her roles while the offers are still rolling in.

Emma Watson is so good that her latest project is animation. I defy her eyebrows to get in the way of that.

To be fair, Gareth (He will forever be 'Ianto' in my head) always looks a little bit bemused. I love Naoko even more now!

I have no problem with Freema, it's just Martha I don't like =)
Plus, I've always thought of it as a bit of an insult to actors to call the people on Hollyoaks 'actors'.

I absolutely LOVED the clip of John and Naoko singing - thank you so much for sharing that one!

Wish I could've gone to ComicCon this year - I was sort of planning on it...but then "Hamlet" came up, and...well... *g*
