Well, let's get it out there and see what people think

The Sixth Annual Panto meet-up is proposed to take place December 2011 in the sunny climes of Glasgow. Again. But it is a new panto, Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates. So, y'know all shiny and new and we won't be able to predict the end (oh yes we will!)

Due to the sickliness of Sir Barrowman I propose we go the week before Christmas, it opens on the 17th December and according to ticketSoup there are plenty of tickets with a fairly good view for all of that first week both evenings and matinees.

[livejournal.com profile] doylefan22, when do the schools break up for Christmas? [livejournal.com profile] flipbfc will you be able to get the time off work to travel somewhere so far away? [livejournal.com profile] steviesun do you want to see if Irish Kate is interested?

Hey everyone

When are you planning on getting up to Glasgow, so we can co-ordinate meeting up.

[livejournal.com profile] doylefan22 do you know if Piper's friend is taking her ticket? If not, do the rest of you know of anyone who'd like to come along?

[livejournal.com profile] kharma2815 I'd like to give you some money for our room.

Does everyone have somewhere to stay?

[x] We are going to the panto on Tuesday 28th December, 7.00pm

[x] I have one spare ticket in Row E which I am looking to sell or face price (£27.50)

[x] [livejournal.com profile] doylefan22 and [livejournal.com profile] flipbfc have been doing some investigation and have found that The Crown Plaza by the SECC have twin rooms for £64 a night. It also has internet which is always fun.

[x] I know [livejournal.com profile] lm_jillybean isn't staying over and [livejournal.com profile] doylefan22 and [livejournal.com profile] flipbfc are staying for three nights. I'm doing 2 nights and am looking for a roomie. How about the rest of you?

Hi Guys

Panto tickets have now arrived from the grand country of Scotland and I really need your cash to pay for them.

Cheques are preferred but if you don't have a cheque book and want to pay me by bank transfer drop me a PM please with your email address.

I also have one spare ticket in Row E. Do any of you know anyone who'd like to join us?

I am an utter idiot. :/ Instead of booking the tickets for the Wednesday I've booked them for Tuesday 28th December instead. I don't know why I was having such a brain fart. I can only blame it on sleep deprivation and a sick baby.

Oh and I booked 13 tickets instead of 12 too. So if anyone else wants to join us I do have another ticket. They work out at £30.30 each including the booking fee.

However, we have got good seats: D 22-24 and E 22-28.

Been doing some information on flights too and with flybe at least prices are no more expensive on a bank holiday than they are on a normal day (I tried with with Easter, May Bank Holiday and August bank holiday) so hopefully the flights won't be too bad.

I'm going to take myself away from the computer now lest I make more cock ups.

Sorry for the delay in posting/organising this, I've been a bit swamped with RL stuff.

Anyhoo.

The results of the poll were for either Tuesday 28th December or Wednesday 29th December.

Best seats Tuesday Row J
Best seats Wednesday Row K
Tickets are £27.50 (plus a £2.80 per ticket booking fee)

(These were from the website, as I'm booking more than 10 tickets I'll have to ring them and I'll ask if we can be split up into 4/5/6's in order to get further forward)

Personally I think Wednesday may be the better day in terms of travelling up and down. I don't know what sort of flights will be running on the Monday (as that would be technically a bank holiday) but Tuesday should be business as usual.

Thoughts?

I will buy tickets for members of my flist and their friends. Everyone else will have to buy their own, sorry.

So I'll be getting tickets for:
me
[livejournal.com profile] nogbad
[livejournal.com profile] steviesun
[livejournal.com profile] doylefan22
[livejournal.com profile] lm_jillybean
[livejournal.com profile] nacbrie
[livejournal.com profile] flipbfc
[livejournal.com profile] kharma2815
Piper + 3
Total (so far): 12

If you want to join us let me know by Wednesday and I'll book the tickets Wednesday afternoon.

Once the tickets are bought I'll start looking at hotels. If we can find a nice little Travelodge or the like in the city centre we may be able to get some nice cheap rooms. Can't look at flights until the air timetables are done in March (Currently they only go up to October).
kaliha: (Damn You Barrowman!!! // miss_jaffacake)
Barely have we got home from the last (100% Barrowman-free!) panto, and here I am looking to organise the next one. Ahem.

John is appearing in Aladdin at the SECC in Glasgow

Let me know which days you are interested in by using this handly little poll:

[Poll #1505220]

At the moment there are tickets available for these dates varying from Row C backwards. Front stalls tickets cost £27.50.

Currently interested in going are:
Me
[livejournal.com profile] nogbad
[livejournal.com profile] steviesun
[livejournal.com profile] doylefan22
(I can't remember if anyone else definitely said yes to going on Monday or not)

Once we've got the date sorted I'll start investigating hotels, flights, trains etc.
