Stuff and nonsense

[x] Two 1gb sticks of RAM arrived in the post at work for me today. Took them home, put them in the computer and lo it appears to be working! His Lordship is running some bad sector repairs on the hard drives and had tried things that are a bit memory intensive like photoshop and firefox to see if it crashes and so far it hasn't *crosses fingers that it stays this way* We're not even getting corrupted file or registry errors so it looks like it's on the mend. I am banned from using it now. This makes me emo as I have episodes of Chuck and Pushing Daisies to watch. wah!!!

[x] His Lordship's £150 present from HMV also finally turned up. I never realised that a computer game weighed so much. Especially when the last Guitar Hero game weighed so little :D

[x] ALL MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IS NOW DONE! *\o/*

[x] Special post has gone out today to [livejournal.com profile] doylefan22 and [livejournal.com profile] dune_drd. Special post for [livejournal.com profile] chicklet73 will go out tomorrow once I've picked up a DWM for you. More special post is still to go out but I'm not going to have time to get them finished until the weekend.

[x] Been granting wishes on [livejournal.com profile] holiday_wishes. Well, offering to grant them anyway. I now need to dig out some beads, some glue and buy some postcards and make an LJ layout to actually fulfill them. if you have a similar wishlist on your journal's and I've not left a comment on it already point me in it's direction, yeah.

[x] Going to Bingo tomorrow (shut up). This time last year one of my workmates won a 42 inch plasma telly at the bingo. Not bad for a £2 play.

[x] Oh poor David Tennant. :( Back surgery isn't fun at any time of the year.

Started designing a new level on LittleBigPlanet and all of a sudden two hours had passed. I'd done barely anything woes. So this is where you lot come in, I'm going to make my level a community level (once I figure out how) and if you're on my PS3 friends list you can add fiendish traps and level design to my level and make it awesomecakes.

Still a bit poorly. But going back to work tomorrow.

(no subject)

I'm feeling a little bit better today. Which is a good thing, although I'm coughing up stuff which is somewhat unpleasant.

In other news I've been playing a lot of LittleBIGPlanet. I'm stupidly stuck on Lost Sensei's Castle so I've been busy getting 100% on the earlier levels. It's very hard to try and play as two characters on two controllers at the same time.

And I watched Shoot 'Em Up

In other news, I'm still after people to send Christmas cases to. The link is in my sidebar. And also link of to your wishlists.

This week I are been mostly...

...reading
The Lies of Locke Lamora
Honestly, I don't know what to do to make the rest of my flist (other than [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana, who's already converted) read Scott Lynch's books. I love them terribly much.

...playing
LittleBIGPlanet
still. I've just beaten the boss of the Noooo York level and won a plane. I also want to figure how to make a pimp daddy bouncy lowrider.

I'm currently sporting a schoolgirl outfit and deelyboppers. (With wellies) I'm still looking stylin'

and a LOLCat to finish:
funny pictures of cats with captions

ETA: It appears that the Shoebox project has been hacked.

Where on earth has the day gone?

I've just spent half the day building my first LittleBigPlanet level. This game is an absolute time suck!

I made this!

I think this is pretty much my most favourite of all the glass pieces I've made so far.

(Apologies for the bonus shot of my pasty chest. ahem)

[livejournal.com profile] redscharlach has made the most brilliant Merlin icons. Run, don't walk to this here post. (I'm a little bit in love with my new default icon).

Via [livejournal.com profile] hoplessfangirl: New Lost teaser trailer. I'm ever so rather excited. Although I am still majorly pissed off with Desmond.

Still playing LittleBigPlanet. I've had a bit of a costume change and made some new friends, *waves* hi guys.

I think my little star deely-boppers are stylin'!

His Lordship has made a level, it's called Rocket Bang Bang. be kind, it's his first ever attempt. I think it's fiendish and also spiffy.

It's even more furstrating than LocoRoco

Especially when you've got as poor hand-eye-controller as I have. Woes.

As you can see my little pod is looking reet stylin' now, although I have managed to staple some flowers to my head which is a bit annoying. And I keep getting squished by a Doc Marten (in the scary castle). Double Woes.

(Yes it did finally turn up, no thanks to Royal Mail.)

I've not played much of it yet so I can't really review it, but I am quite loving it and I have my Facebook friend Stephen Fry talking to me out of my tellybox, nothing can be better, I luff him!

If you've got a PS3 come be my LBP friend. My PSN ID is kalilj (I know, how imaginative)

His Lordship is going to make me a level all of my very own tomorrow. I expect it will be all spikes and deathly pools of smoke with lots of jumping cos I'm rubbish at it.

In non-gaming news, I went to see The Mighty Boosh live last night. Sadly there were only about five people all dressed up (2 Moons, a Hitcher, a cat(?) and some one in a red glittery catsuit like what Vince wears).

We saw it at the Civic (otherwise known as the venue with the shite sound) and it was no different to usual, you could barely hear Noel and Julian when they were standing in front of the curtains in between set changes. (And yes they did sing the Eels song). I thought it was very very silly, but also quite fun and I will make more of an effort to catch the actual series now.

An enjoyable 7/10.

Little things...

I'm going to see the Mighty Boosh tomorrow. Is this the wrong time to say that I've not seen a single episode? And all I know about Boosh is what I've gleaned from the flist (and a clip of the moon talking about Neil Armstrong walking on his face and the eels song)? Quick, rec me some YouTube videos so I can have a quick revision session.

LittleBigPlanet has been dispatched by Special Delivery by HMV. It could actually be in my hands tomorrow. I'm so very excited. I'm going to finish work early just so I can have a little play before we go to see the Mighty Boosh.

Loads of American peeps on my flist are posting cute little pictures today in an election meme, here are a couple of my favourites
[livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo: with a little sausage dog in a bun
[livejournal.com profile] kissingdaylight: with a winning baby marmoset

Carrying on the cute theme of cuteness
[livejournal.com profile] strangefrontier linked her flist to [livejournal.com profile] upsidedowndogs. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

[livejournal.com profile] gypsyjr reminds me why I think Simon Pegg is 57-varieties of awesome. (He also wasn't really a fan of Dead Set)

The Sun distresses me with their Russell Brand to be in PotC4 'news'. I cannot put into words how much I do not want.

Why did no one mention that Top Gear was back on Sunday? I misseded it and now I am sad. It's not the same watching them in tiny on the BBC iPlayer. I blame His Lordship and his incessant game playing. If he wasn't playing bloody PES I would have noticed :((((

Randomosity

His Lordship has discovered Ninja Cat comes closer while not moving. I've not heard him laugh so much in absolutely ages.

In other linky news:
Hey nonny nonny it's David Tennant in tights. I'm a bit sad that I couldn't afford to go to see this too. Ho hum.

Lee Pace interview. I luff him and his tall lankiness.

News on Dom Monaghan's new project. I miss him on my tellybox every week.

Take on Me was one of my favourite videos when I was a kid. My mum recorded it and I'd just watch it on repeat. Honestly. The four year old me was so in love with Morten. I cried when I thought he'd died. (My mum still gets the lulz from that little fact)

Some very clever person has re-recorded the video and given it a more literal slant...

A Pop-Culture update

Little Big Planet has now been pre-ordered. You will not see me for about a month when it first comes out because I'll be cocking about on it so much.

[livejournal.com profile] casirafics linked to two brilliant LBP beta test levels and this is why I want the game, look at the stuff you can do!

Build a calculator! (Wait until the camera pans out at the end OMG!)
Make music, literally with the levels (I want to dress my little Sack!Girl as Lulu please.)
Plus it's narrated by Stephen Fry, who, by all accounts thinks it's quite brilliant.

In other gaming news I had a dream last night that I had a SingStar party round my (suddenly massive) house and Matt Bellamy was there having a sing-off to Supermassive Black Hole (sadly not available in rl on SingStar) against His Lordship and his brother. Matt Bellamy lost. I was so shocked I actually woke up. God's honest truth.

And on the subject of SingStar they've released two Queen songpacks, including such gems as Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions and I Want to Break Free. In regards to the last song, I hope to be seeing many videos on SingStar Online of blokes in drag with fake moustaches and vacuum cleaners.

Got my watch parts off eBay today, soon be be seen in another jewellery making project. Won't have time to do anything before the weekend though.

I have been watching a fair bit of telly too. Mainly because the Sky+ box is down to about 3% free. Woes.
