Martha - Last of the Time Lords Layout

Layout Information

• Paid Accounts ONLY


• S2 - Flexible Squares


• Need to have somewhere to host your images


• Navigation links in the banner are animated and the font changes when the mouse rolls over


• The separator image is based on Martha's necklace


• Crediting is love and please link me to your journal once you've installed your layout so I can see how it looks :)


• Feedback from people using IE7 or Safari encouraged as I don't have either browser so was unable to test how it looked on either of them.

Download the txt layout file from {here}

Part 1 - Upload your pictures to your chosen image host (as you're a paid user I do recommend using LJ's Scrapbook) and make a note of the urls for each image as you will need them later on.

Part 2 - Prepare your layout file

• Open up the file in notepad or similar


• Replace every instance of YOURURL.HERE with the URL of that image file


• Replace every instance of YOURUSERNAME with your LiveJournal username


• Save

Part 3 - Add your theme


Step 1
Go to the Customise Journal Page


Step 2
Change your style system to S2 and then Save Changes


Step 3
Click on Advanced


Step 4
Click on Your Layers


Step 5
You want to create a new layout-specific layer so change the drop down to 'Theme' and the layout to 'Flexible Squares'. Click on Create.


Step 6
The blank layout will be created. Click on Edit.


Step 7
Here is your blank layout. Delete the two visible lines and then copy and paste your amended txt file into that large box. Click on 'Save & Compile'. The bottom box should say that there are no errors. Hoorah!


Step 8
Go back to the Customise Journal page and click on 'Look and Feel'. Change the layout to Flexible Squares and the Themes to 'Martha v1.0' and click on Save Changes. Your layout should now be installed successfully.
