I need to get back into practice...

Could have done without seeing the end of tPotW, it makes me sad. I pull this face: :( and sometimes there's a bit of :~(.

How weird is it not seeing Eccles' name in the titles?

The lighting in the TARDIS doesn't quite match up either. Personally it's a good thing, the fact it's lighter means the caps come out a lot better and it's nice to actually *see* the set. And it's a bit less green too.

I wonder what Tuesday October the 6th in Barcelona's like? Must be pretty nice for him to want to take Rose there. I'm guessing we'll never see the dogs with no noses - shame really - I wanted to make the joke - lots of times - and see if he was right and that it was still funny. Ho hum.

Loved the little section where he asks Rose what he loooks like. Totally not noticing that she's somewhat put out by him changing in front of her eyes. He's too busy being impressed by how buff he is. I bet he's thinking "I bet I look impressive!". The whole "I have got a mole!" had me giggling my little socks off. Are you sure RTD isn't reading T&C? Although the big hair did remind me of "Something About Mary" and got me giggling for entirely the wrong reasons.

Nice to also see Rose using her head, but isn't he a little bit thin to be a Raxacoricofalopratian in disguise?

I want to go hopping through Time and Space too. My legs would get tired after a bit though. Now there's a story that needs to be told. A planet where they had to hop... *giggles* I really can't see Eccles doing the hopping.

Doctor: "Uh oh."
You know it's never going to end well when those two little syllables are uttered. I like the way mad!Doctor seems to be a combination of different personalities.

Jack:
Rose: "Let's go find Captain Jack, he'll know what to do."
Doctor: "He's busy, he's got plenty to do, rebuilding the Earth."
It's my only quibble with the whole thing, and potentially something that could make me hate the Doctor, like, forever. Can't you go back, make sure he's okay, say bye properly. Something? You can't just leave him on a space station full of corpses. Although it does answer the question about whether or not Rose brought everyone back to life. Looks like it was just Jack. I'm also guessing the Doctor knows Jack's alive because he can see the past/present/future normally.

It may only have been a few minutes long but it has all the requirements that a fangirl wants:

Angst:
In bucketloads. Nice to see Rose doesn't immediately take to the new Doctor. Her recitience to him is wonderfully played and:
Rose: "Can you change back?"
Doctor: "You want me to?"
Rose: "Yeah."
was really heartbreaking. Just watch the expression on his face. Poor Doctor. And then he asks her if she wants to leave: I very nearly forgot I was watching this in company and very nearly shouted "Noooooooooo!" at the screen :p

Doctor: "Every single cell changed, but it's still me." We could argue that that's not possible, but I'm not going to; I'm feeling charitable today.

Hand!porn:
Doctor: "I took your hand and I said one word. Just one word I said: 'run!'"
(Top Five in SFX's Hall of Fame :))
Yay for hand!porn bringing Rose round to what's standing right in front of her.

Ruffling:
Are you sure he doesn't? Becuase there was definite ruffling. Surely not a co-incidence.

Banter:
Doctor: "Was that a smile?"
Rose: "No."
Doctor: "That was a smile."
Rose: "No it wasn't."
What can I say, I'm a big fan of the banter. I want lots more lovely banter in the next series. Obviously won't be much if the Doctor's passed out in bed during the Christmas Special but ho hum.

So in conclusion, I loved all 5 minutes and 54 seconds of it. (Oh Mr Davies you're really spoiling us). I'm totally fangirling over David Tennant (but that was a given I suppose). His Lordship, however, is a bit less sure about the whole thing. He doesn't like the way Tennant's Doctor is sharing a lot of the same manic-ness of Eccles' Doctor. Personally I thought that was a good thing, empathsising the fact the Doctor's the same on the inside, it's just the packaging that's changed - but I'm only a girl. What do I know?

*points to icon* well, is it?

I loved it too- had a right good squee at it. My dad asked if i'd enjoyed it and when i said yes and that i loved the new doctor he told me that i couldn't get too excited at Christmas or mum would turn it off.

Well i don't care cos there's three tvs in that house, she can't ban it from all of them!!!!

On another Doctor related note. I have my box set. And i loves it!

The CiN ep seriously got me thinking he does. I mean, it's not impossible at all.

One thing that stood out to me as glaringly different was Billie's hair. The extensions they put in for continuity (since she's now had it cut shorter) just looked so obvious to me, but then I have a tendency to obsess over the hair.

The Doctor is still the doctor. Regeneration means that a Time Lords DNA changes but the memories remain the same, just small personality quirks.
I thought Eccleston had a bit of a Hartnell grumpy moodness to him as the Doctor.

Tennant only went into acting so he could become Doctor Who, so he's probably been practising for the role, for quite some time lol.

Hey Julia. Sorry, I know this is off topic, but I was wodering if you wanted to me to put that Chris Eccleston thing on a cd-r for you. I'm getting a new pc in a week or so, and I'd really like you to have it before Christmas. Also, I'd quite like to not lose it, or whatever.

It's Shelley, formerly [livejournal.com profile] yourjezebel, by the way.
