Blimey, anyone get blown away yesterday?

I was woken up at about three yesterday morning when the gales hit us properly. It sounded like something had driven into the house. Then, because it's bin day on a Wednesday round our way, everyone's bins were by the road (apart from mine 'cos I'm lazy) and they all started blowing over like dominoes. My road looked a complete tip yesterday morning. Not nice at all.

Small-faced Kitten is seriously in my bad books at the moment. I woke up last night, heart pounding, to hear the curtain at the bottom of the stairs being pulled back. Slightly panicky I felt around the floor of the bed eventually turning up a little torch and a craft knife. Suitably armed I crept very slowly to the top of the stairs and then whacked the lights on, fully expecting to find a burglar at the bottom of the stairs.

Thankfully no there wasn't a burglar, but there was a naughty little Small-Faced kitten rolling around all tangled up in a towel, who was tangled up with the curtain which had pulled it over a bit.

Ooh I told him off! There was finger wagging and threats of the water squirter and everything but he was completely unrepentant and all "PLAYTIEM NAO?". I did check, there were no signs of a break in. It was definitely this little black and white cat who was all "CAN I HAZ FISHIE ONNA STRIIIING?"

I did cave and play with him, because my heart was still pounding so much to go back to bed. I can't believe his not-so-loving owners had dumped him outside last night, what with massive gusts of wind and stuff and no shelter for a poor unloved cat apart from in my hall curtains in a towel. (I think he was actually trying to dry himself off, no really).

In other news I finished Red Seas under Red Skies. OMG! I can't believe Locke did that! And I've got to wait until November for the next book. That's a horribly long wait. Gah.

At least coming out in May is the anthology of Camorr-based stories with Bug and the Twins, which'll be nice.

I did have a fabulous book related dream last night which was in a massive crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean and Jack was working on the Poisoned Orchid, obviously Barbossa has nicked off with the Pearl again. In my dream Locke was still played by the lovely David Tennant, but poor Jean has suffered a casting change and is now being played by Michael C Hall (purely because I watched Dexter before bed last night I think, my brain is very fickle, obviously). Oh and Zamira's son was played by the kid from Utopia.

(I think Jack got there by going out to the Bermuda triangle and falling into a Rift through time and space – it's the only thing that makes sense.)

There was loads of fighting and cannon fire and Jack the Monkey was there was well for a bit, having stolen the vial with the antidote to the poison in it and Locke and Jean chasing him around the ship until Jack shot him.

It was positively epic. I was quite sad when my alarm went off this morning and I didn't get to the end of the dream. I want to know what happens.

There's a rift developed at work. This afternoon one of my collegues overhears me and another member of staff talking about David Tennant (because he's the background on my computer at the moment). She takes one look at said backdrop and goes "I never liked that David Tennant, he's weird and creepy-looking and his eyes are too wide like he's on drugs or something."

!!!

You could hear the gasps ripple throughout the office. Well, I strongly disagree with that. There's now some shunning going on.

In TV news:

Starting watching Dexter on ITV. Only three episodes in, but it's a bit good really and I love the way you're identifying with the serial killer, the bloke who is usually vilified in programmes. And it's got Unexpected Darla!

I have a new guilty pleasure in Hotel Babylon. Oh I know it's complete bubblegum telly, but I luff Dexter Fletcher and I can't help myself.

Caught the first two episodes of The Sarah Connor Chronicles on Virgin1. Summer Glau is hard as nails y/y? Not entirely in to it, but it's hard to tell if I'm going to get into something after only two episodes

The Bionic Woman started on ITV2 this week. It was okay, but it's quite hard to be convinced by Michelle Ryan's American accent – and I still see her as a Slater too. Damn my prejudices. I'll give it another couple of weeks and see how I go.

A more in depth review of Torchwoo! to come later on.

I adore Sarah Connor Chronicles - I've dl'd every ep. Such a shame it was only a 9-ep season.

SCC chronicles really picks up around episode five, both because of the introduction of a new character to the mix and because of certain plot points that had been getting groundwork before start kicking into high gear. The back half of the season (only 9 eps) took me from "hmm, interesting" to squeeful fangirling in only 5 eps, so I highly recommend hanging in!

Hee hee, I actually thought Michelle Ryan's accent was excellent! When I was watching it I was thinking 'She looks like that girl from Eastenders. But it can't be her, she's American! But she looks so much like her!' I had to Google there and then and was surprised to see it was her. I think she picked up some hints from James Nesbitt on being all powerful and strange when she was in Jekyll in the autumn :-)

Hopefully things can resolve at your work, what an awful situation! Lol! One of my best friends can't see the DT appeal, and thinks he is too skinny, would you believe?? Tsk. We've managed to remain friends. It's worked out quite well because in the very likely to happen scenario where DT turns up round my local pub, single and looking for some fun, my friend will support me in my efforts, rather than competing with me, to seduce him! Lucky me ;-)

"CAN I HAZ FISHIE ONNA STRIIIING?" Made me laugh :D I can totally picture the innocent butter-wouldn't-melt face.

I don't love David that much either. Does this mean I get shunned too?

Also Summer Glau = so completely amazing.

I heard that it is being picked up for a second series though. I don't know how true that is, but that alone makes it sound promising.

I'll try it again next week, but I'm not all that impressed with it. I fully blame EastEnders for my inability to believe that she could play anything else than a Slater.

Poor small-faced kitten! And poor you, for being awakened in such a manner - yikes.

*joins you in shunning Tennant-insulting person at your work*
