You comment and are given five words or things the OP associates with you, you come back to your journal and write about them.

Otters
I have massive love for otters. They come third in my love of small furry creatures after cats and moles. They're so playful and clever and they have a serious love of boiled eggs (at least the ones at Longleat and the ones at the otter sanctuary I went to once do). How can you not love an animal who loves boiled eggs?

event organization
I always get roped into organising stuff because of my administraton background and my need to get everything sorted. I'm not the most brilliant at it, I admit, but I have managed to get everyone to London, to Cardiff and nearly everyone to Birmingham on a couple of occassions.

John Barrowman (well, think about how we meet!)
He manages to bring a lot of people together on a yearly basis all around the country and he's a brilliant excuse for people who are usually much to 'cool' to go to a panto and really enjoy themselves :D let's face it, him and Tennant have done a lot to promote British tourism ove rthe last couple of years.

silversmithing
My new hobby (and I have weak lemon drink to drink while doing my hobby too). I am absolutely loving it. I find doing all the filing really relaxing because it's gentle and repetitive but also remarkably intricate and I love having stuff to show off for it. This has reminded me that I need to post my last work in progress report. I'll get on that this week.

Icanhascheezeburger macros
I do have a serious soft spot for stupid pictures of cats with words on. and here and now I apologise for spamming your flists with them over the last six months or so. (And you've got to admit the one with the teeny piglet was super cute - and I still don't know how they make piglets that small). I think the site as a whole just appeals to my sense of humour and the fact, as a cat owner, I can see Mr Bilbs thinking the exact same things. (As far as a cat thinking in comical human terms).

Bilbo
I am contractually obliged to say that he's my favourite cat ever (but he does come a very close second to Bagpuss). Bilbo does get extra points though on account of being real. He infuriates the hell out of me, has ruined so many pairs of curtains and likes to leave birds heads on the computer chair, but I can't help loving him to pieces. I'm still feeling very loving towards him as he went to sleep in my lap last weekend. You can't buy that sort of love. He did fall off the windowsill onto my head this morning though.

Making jewellery
I got into jewellery making through beading and spent a lot of my time sat in front of the telly making beaded bits and pieces, mostly necklaces. Last year I decided to expand into glass fusing and for my birthday got a £300 mini kiln with I love dearly. However I hate having to drill holes in my glass (because I'm clumsy and I break stuff) and decided to learn how to use silver to make surrounds (bezels) for my pieces. Which led me to enrolling on a silversmithing course and learning that now. I think I'm getting to a stage where my stuff is almost good enough to sell and am in the process of slowly putting together a website and a folksy/etsy page and talking to my CAB contacts about the right way to do this as a business. Expect to hear more about this later on in the year.

Cardiff
The place I first met you! And it was cold and rainy and typically Welsh and I got us lost and it was all brilliant fun! We should do it again!

Doctor Who
Watched it since I was about five. Peter Davison was my first Doctor and it was used initially as a way to keep me quiet by my babysitter. I wasn't one for hiding behind the sofa. Fell out of love with it once it finished on the telly and didn't come back to it until the TV Movie and then forgot about it again until Rose. Through it I've made loads of quite brilliant friends both IRL and on LJ and for all the annoyances I have with the show I'd rather have it back on my telly than not at all. (Plus I've got all these EDAs and BF audios and all sorts to catch up on, it's brill).

Being a mod
I've modded bulletin boards, mailing lists and communities and the like since, ooh, 1996 or thereabouts. It's my inner administrator I think. The first thing I modded properly was a Buffy bulletin board back on acmecity (and that's going back some) although I'd helped out on a couple mailing lists before then. Since then I've helped look after communities and whatnot with as few as 20 members and as many as 15,000 (thankfully not on my own). Mostly these days I look help look after a couple of icontests, an actor comm, a pretty TV show comm and a couple of nice, little comms. I am trying to cut back on my modding mowadays as work and hobbies take up way too much of my time.

glass
As mentioned up above I got a kiln for my last birthday and have happily spent the past few months making stuff and cooking glass and experimenting and nearly burning my face off and it's great fun. One day I'll probably upgrade me kiln to a bigger one as I can only make 6 or 6 pendants at a time but at the moment it suits me perfectly.

Shropshire
One of the prettiest counties in the country (IMHO). His Lordship's family come from out that way so I've spent a lot of time in those parts. The place I love the best is Ironbridge. We go for Christmas Eve out there every year and in the summer go for long walks by the river. Shrewsbury and Ludlow are very nice too. This year His Lordship and I are going to spend a lot more time exploring the place as there's loads of lovely walks (like the Long Mynd and the Wrekin) and Ludlow has the most delicious food festival too!

felines
I blame Bagpuss for my love of all things feline. From small little balls of fluff like Bilbo or the infamous Small-Faced Kitten to slighter bigger chaps like this:

better not get me started on Toto from Big Cat Diary though.

karaoke parties
I won't delude myself into thinking I'm the next singing sensation, But say one tnhing for me, say that I'm enthusiatic when I get hold of a microphone. Living in a semi detached house I can't get the SingStar out as much as I like (it's not fair to inflict it on them) but I do have a fairly decent karaoke collection now. Mostly purchased for my big karaoke party last year. I find a bit of Dutch courage helps when singing (and lots of practice when I'm washing up)

computer or console games
My first favourite game: Hopper on the Acorn Electron. You had to load it up using a tape and it squealed and if you accidentally stopped the tape it would crash and you'd have to start again and it was a blatant rip off of Frogger but I absolutely loved it.
My favourite game of 1997: Final Fantasy VII. I never realised that games could be go detailed and look so brilliant and the cut scenes were breathtaking and it took me 150 hours to complete and the victory music from it was my text message ringtone ages before Advent Children did it.
My current favourite: LittleBIGPlanet, although I've not played it for a while. When I'm on the phone at work or waiting for something to load I do doodle level designs on a bit of scrap paper. I really should get back on that.
Currently plahying: LocoRoco 2. I sing along with the little LocoRoco's. I don't play this game out in public.

screencapping - you spot so much stuff going through an episode practically frame by frame. Sad but true. I do think I over screencap though.

pub quizzes
I miss going to the pub quiz. I don't even think that Pub Quiz Bloke even lives in our town now. (Last we heard he was moving to Cannock, it's like the other side of the world). Our pub quiz team consisted of me, His Lordship and our friends C & H (with the occasional special guest appearance from [livejournal.com profile] jimboharris and various other friends and family).

The best part of the quiz was the just for fun Boys V Girls round where the boys and girls went head to head guessing the songs Pub Quiz Bloke would play the start of. I was unbeatable with TV themes and one week managed to get 8 out of the girls team score of 10. (I watch a lot of telly).

We are looking for a new Pub Quiz and have a list of possibles we're going to start trying over the next couple of months.

David Tennant pulling faces
The man has a rubber face. Fact. I think I still have saved on the other computer a Semagic draft picspam entitled the Many faces of David Tennant. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Panto excursions
I love going to the panto. My nan and my Aunt used to take me when I was a tiny little thing and when I was six I got to go on stage at the Hippodrome and Danny LaRue asked me what I'd had for Christmas (a Strawberry Shortcake doll). When I got a bit older it was considered terribly uncool to go to the panto, so thank God for John Barrowman being a bit of a panto 'ho and giving us the perfect excuse to go and enjoy a couple of hours of family fun (It's behind you!). (I really ought to start organising this years).

inconveniently vomiting cats
I swear, Bilbo does it on purpose and in the most difficult to reach places like under the middle of the bed at four in a morning. :/ Because I have no sense of smell and when he's messy or disgusting or naughty he's "my cat" I'm the one who had to stumble around in the dark with a loo roll and a bottle of carpet cleaner all blearry eyed.

Ooh and now it's nearly time for Heroes. Hoorah!
