I've had new series excitement all day.

[x] Why do I have this really strong feeling that either the Moff or the Mill got the inspiration for this week's alien while watching repeats of Doctor Who on Watch? I do hope that the continuity announcers on Watch comment on this when this episode is shown over there.
[x] baby!Amy is probably one of the cutest little kids ever on telly.
[x]I really like that dark blue Damask wallpaper in Amy's house. (Sorry, I should have been paying attention to the plot.
[x] I got a bit excited over the appearance of Olivia Colman ♥
[x] The continuity was a bit all over the place, there was a bitten apple back in the fruit bowl and then disappeared and the red velvet Third Doctor referencing was in Rory's arms, then on the floor, then in his arms and then back on the floor.
[x] The Doctor is a clothes-stealing thief! I am shocked, shocked. (In a related note I'm very impressed by the HD, you could make out the pattern on his shirt so very clearly. I presume the pattern is called wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.) And Doctor, the look is not cool, but don't worry about it, you'll probably create a whole new fashion tag like you did with geek chic.
[x] I hope to see the following on [livejournal.com profile] crafty_tardis in the next week or so: clothes peg Doctor and Amy; toilet roll Doctor and Amy and surprisingly well-made Doctor. If not, I'm doing a tutorial for toilet roll!Doctor.
[x] Oh and the new Console Room set? ♥ ♥ ♥

All in all I have to say that I absolutely loved it. I really like Matt Smith. He was classically Doctorish and not overly shouty and the use of geronimo was well-placed and not that forced.

This. He's a really brilliant Doctor; I see now exactly why Moffat cast him.

YES, to the "not overly shouty" - I never liked that part of Tennant. Subtle can be good, even if it sometimes forces me to up the volume!

If not, I'm doing a tutorial for toilet roll!Doctor.

I'd love to see that one. I'm rubbish at arts and crafts, but I might be able to come up with toilet-roll!Eleven. (My inner seven-year-old is downright gleeful about the idea. :D)
