Trailers:
Harry Potter: Oh my. It looks really good on the big screen. (Although I'm sure

Shrek 3: Looks like more of the same but I love Puss in Boots and Donkey so as long as they get lots of screentime I'll be happy. And it looks like Jonathan Ross will be reprising his Ugly Sister role too.
The Bourne Ultimatum: Matt Damon [/Matt Damon in Team America voice]. Guns. explosions, car crashes. Ooh. Body of an action hero, face of a potato.
Die Hard 4: No vests. *looks grumpy* Also with the explosions and stuff. BIG explosions.
Yes I was bouncing up and down on my seat at a number of points during the film. Cookies if you can guess which bits ;)
The Good
[x] Jack.
[x] OMG I love Johnny Depp, even in an extreme close-up of his nose (pores and all) hunting out peanuts.
[x] The Singapore set. So lush and detailed
[x] Shipwreck Cove - the worlds best treehouse. Fact.
[x] Jack's emo when he realises that Beckett doesn't hold him in any sort of awe whatsoever.
[x] Many, many Jack's filled me with glee, but they should have stayed in Davy Jones' locker. Some of the CGI looked frankly rubbish (especially the 'normal' Jack's in the Brig of the Dutchman - Partoftheship!Jack however, very good)
[x] Omid Djalili furthering his career as characters of a Persian persuasion. I ♥ Omid.
[x] Murtogg and Mulroy returning and taking a career change *squishes them* I loved them in the first film. And as I double act I really prefer them to Ragetti and Pintel who just annoy me now. Although Ragetti's "Goodbye Poppet" was really sweet.
[x] Beckett walking down the decks of the Endevor as it exploded around him was frankly visually amazing. As was the little grey crabs - which were the cutest thing ever. And I can bet you some actual money that they will be the favourite bit of the film for my sister.
[x] Keith Richards is MADE OF WIN. This is a fact. And so, so craggy. And how like him is Capt Jack? Johnny Depp really has been paying attention.
[x] King Elizabeth. Made me lol. She's not very kingly. She's very bloodthirsty too.
[x] I have to admit that I really liked the wedding scene too (and I'm not a crew member on that 'ship)
[x] Tia Dalma/Calypso - I wonder if we'll ever see her again. Oh, and Jack's comment on how 'his heart belongs to the sea' (I can't remember the exact quote, but you know the one I mean). Whole. New. Meaning.
[x] Monkey!Jack. I like his little shirt and breeches. Awwww.
[x] Jack wants rum. :) But what was the other thing Jack wanted? The Pearl? The fountain of youth? Elizabeth? (Now the last one I wouldn't put past him, even though the last time she kissed him she then sent him to his doom - but why should that stand in the way ;))
The slightly disturbing
[x] The very young pirate lord calling the pirate!entmoot. Starting a Disney movie with about 30 people getting hanged? Disturbing much????
[x] The poor girl getting shot in the head by Mercer. Unpleasant.
[x] Chow Yun Fat's exit. Owies.
[x] More tentacle porn. It's the new thing for fandom in general this year. probably.
[x] Giant!Calypso was a bit disturbing
[x] Bill Nighy didn't look right out of the tentacles - that's how used I've got to his tentacly face.
The Sadding
None of the main characters got their truly happy ending, and for a Disney film that's quite a surprise.
[x] I may have shed a tear (or three) in the scene with Governor Swann and Elizabeth. :(
[x] Oh Norrington. You had a bath and got a lovely curly wig and for what? But you saved the girl (and finally got a kiss out of her) but still ended up in the dead club. I wonder if he'll end up meeting Will on one of Will's trips beyond World's End. Not likely to happen I admit. I'm just glad he went honourably, because that's what he wanted more than anything - which is why his fall from grace nearly broke his mind. I'm also glad he sort of patched things up with Elizabeth too.
[x] Oh Will. I find you a bit bland and annoying, but you deserved a happier ending than you got. But in the circumstances at least you're in a better place that you would have been. Being killed by the sword made by your own hand scores very highly on the irony chart thought. Well I suppose it was the only way he could have his cake and eat it (and not be completely and totally dead - and Jones showed you can get round the not being able to step on land for ten years with a couple of buckets of seawater - Will and Elizabeth are quite resourceful they'll find a way round it all)
[x] How gutting must it be to be Elizabeth
And why does Barbossa always end up with the ship? All that effort, dying and coming back and getting slimed by the Kraken and Jack still doens't end up with his ship. Poor Jack - you be a rubbish pirate.
If any of those Jack's are going spare please can I have the heavily tattooed one? Thanks.
Did you see where the 'Fountain of Youth' was located? Bang slap in the Bermuda Triangle. Ace.
8/10
And does anyone mind sharing what the post credit scene was - I was dying for the loo and just couldn't hang on. Woes.
And as we were coming out there were a middle-aged couple going in to Star City dressed as pirates. Awesome.
