Final Destination 3: you know when you watch Casualty and you try to guess from the opening few scenes how everyone is going to get awfully maimed. Well that's what watching this was like, only with a bigger budget and without Charlie being unable to look anyone in the eye. (Is Charlie even in Casualty now? 4/10

Casanova: The Heath Ledger version. Much better than I thought it was going to be. Bonus points for having Omid Djalili in a sizable role AND Sydney from Alias's mum in it. Hated Sienna Miller though - talentless and vapid. Not a patch on the BBC Wales version though. (And no, I'm not being biased here. *raises a sardonic eyebrow*) 7/10

And have just sat through five minutes of Scooby Doo 2 whilst waiting for 7.15 to come round. Oh. My. God. It's awful!

In other news, I really want to see this

It looks well good and I've missed seeing John cusack on the big screen

And I want to see this too!

I love the fact all of a sudden there's loads and loads of Cusack films coming up, this makes me very happy.

imho, they could have picked a better story to film from Everything's Eventual, like the titular piece. 1408 was good but I don't see how they could get 90 minutes out of it.

I went to see 1408 last night, and IMHO, it was pretty awesome. Spooky in many good ways and "ACK" inducing in many good ways (but not so much that it got annoying), and then there were some moments that had us all snickering. John Cusack is just awesome in it, too. Definitely recommend it.

I saw the first Scooby Doo movie and it's much like the recent live-action Thunderbirds film...okay for a turn-your-brain-off type thing but it could have been SO MUCH more. And Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne Blake was just strange and very wrong. :( The first movie had small moments of potential for me, like the idea of the Gang drifting apart and going their seperate ways, then reuniting, but most of it was just too silly and kiddie.

I caught the first few minutes of Scooby Doo 2 tonight but turned it over. Blah.

It's a shame, really. I bet they could make a fantastic Scooby Doo movie that kids AND adults could really like if they tried. I used to love the classic cartoons.

1408 was good. I think what makes it so interesting as a film is you're always asking yourself if he's going to be victorious or not. And every time you think he is, another curve is thrown. Cusack does a great job. Most of the time he's alone on screen, reacting to special effects--things that weren't there while he was filming. The scene he has with Samuel L. Jackson is great.

Heh. I used to do that all the time when I still watched it. It was one of the reasons I preferred it to ER.
Never noticed the thing about Charlie, though.

I wasn't that impressed with Final Destination 2 so I have yet to bother with 3. (I can't believe some people think 2 is better than 1!)

My brain is stuck in summer blockbuster mode now as far as films are concerned...Spider-man 3, PotC 3, Fantastic Four, Shrek, Harry Potter, Simpsons movie, Transformers...Me thinks I'll be having a lot of popcorn.

I have to admit I did sit and watch Scooby Doo 2 with mum after DW last night. It was fun in a 'ahh I remember the cartoon' way. In my defence I do have laryngitis (again), I can't talk (again), I have a bit of a fever and a nasty cough so I cannot vouch for my taste in films right now.

1408 is outstanding. I loved it. It's tons better than the shitty Stephen King short story that it's based on.
