kalihaWe bravely ventured out in the torrential rain and wind to go to Ye Olde Pub Quizze last night and what a lot of fun we had.
We called ourselves Jim's Defected because as soon as we walked in he went off to sit with his 'bi-atches' (it's the nickname we gave the groups of girls he hung around with at College). This left myself, His Lordship and Claire and Hugh. Although it was very nearly just me and hubby as Claire and Hugh were late.

Amusingly one of the pictures in the Picture Round were a pair identical twins, one of whom had had a sex change and we had to guess which one it was.
I may have to give my Dom!fangirl membership back. One of the TV themes was Hetty Wainthrop and I didn't recognise it. I religiously watched that programme back in the day, I should have got it. (Is very cross with myself).
Although I did redeem myself slightly (but not much) in the music round by guessing Whigfield's Saturday Night in about a quarter of a second.
We got our best score since we started though with 35/40. But it was only enough to get us into second place as we were pipped by one point by a team of ten ladies (aged from 18-55) from Debenhams. But considering there was half the number in our team we did ourselves proud.
Sad we didn't win because they've swopped the crap beer for good beer this week and it was Grolsh and Smirnoff Black Ice. (How very annoying)
In the Boys V Girls guess the song round the girls lost 12-8 (although there were about 30 boys to less than 15 girls so it was a bit of an unfair advantage.
His Lordship 'impressed' everyone with his knowledge of 90's crap pop by correctly getting Betty Boo's Doing the Do in about half a second.

macphista will be pleased with me because I got Franz Ferdinand's Michael ("You beautiful dance whore"). I also got Alien Ant Farm and a couple of others but not quick enough to get the points. Plus Jim was standing in front of me, absorbing my weedy little shouts. Hugh, however, should be the most ashamed as he correctly got Crazy Frog (!) and Cliff Richard (OMG!).

In non-pub quiz related news, I'm severely pissed off withthe new DVD recorder as it didn't record the John Barrowman interview yesterday *kicks it*
And we've got no computer either *twitches* it's having its new motherboard, sound card and graphics card fitted. I *need* the internet. *twitches again*
