Happy Nearly New Year!!!

Was woken up at 1am this morning by some drunken fool who'd dialled the wrong number. I was less than impressed. Calls in the middle of the night mean one of two things: 1) If His Lordship is out then it's likely to be him, drunk, telling the things he sees as he walks back to the Train Station or 2) Someone's in hospital/ill/dead. As His Lordship was home then it was more likely to be '2'. Hence me being less than impressed. Stupid Drunks.

Met His Lordship's new kitten-shaped friend. Small-faced kitten is really very with the cute. Absolutely tiny, but very playful. He loved Bilbo's fish on a stick and even more surprising was the fact Bilbo was nice to him and didn't try and rip an ear off or anything, even when S-FK tried to pounce on him and everything. The three of us had a lot of fun together.

This is where I reckon he'll be hiding for most of tonight as the local Chavs set off a fireworks factory worth of crappy fireworks. Poor Bilbs.

We're not going out tonight. I take offence at having to pay to get into any of the local pubs who make no effort for New Year's (other than put of Jools Holland). Instead me and His Lordship are going to cook a nice three-course dinner (I'm doing the pudding - it includes Cherry Brownie ice cream) and watch TV.

On the subject of TV we're surrently watching the first season of Arrested Development at the moment and it's really very funny. Why was it cancelled? (Stoopid networks) It's about a million times better than Curb Your Enthusiasm.

And finally...
Why has no one mentioned that Simon Pegg's in Mission: Impossible III? I now have a reason to go and sit through a Tom Cruise film.

Bilbo is as always adorable and the small faced kitten is just the cutest.

It's about a million times better than Curb Your Enthusiasm.

That is a show I can just never get into, which is weird since I am a massive Seinfeld fan. The first series of Arrested Development is actually on my Blockbuster list, so whenever they send it me I'm sure I'll enjoy it as I've only ever heard good things.

When the shelf in my room that houses my books/CDs/etc was still in the front room, Chica had a habit of getting on it and sitting on the shelves. It's was rather cute watching her peering round the corner of it.

I hope Bilbo's not too scared tonight, poor thing.

Chica and Lucky are masters (mistresses?) of that particular phenomenon. It'll be nice & quiet in a room when all of a sudden, this cat will appear as if out of nowhere. Maybe all cats can do it, I don't know.

Well, we got off light this year. Texas banned fireworks for the time being, because we are in a drought, haven't had rain in FOREVER, and have been having large, damaging brush fires.

Want us to send you some rain? It's hard to imagine there being a drought in southern America after all the hurricanes. Then again it's hard to imagine just how big America is ;)

All the storms missed our area - North Texas. We're about 330 miles from the area that got hit by the last big hurricane. This area is far from the coast, and basically is a city built on a desert plain.

PLEASE send rain. Heck, I'll take it from Northern Californians, as well - they're in a bad way, getting 4-5" a day right now. We're likely to have water restricts for all of 2006 if this doesn't abate.

I think the people who actually own him may take offence, plus Bilbo would get mean and jealous. He's already very possessive of me (in a scary cat-like way)
