Oh, it gets more and more wonderful, really it does.

Favourite bits of the evening:

[x] Gene: "You're nicked, sunbeam."

[x] Arresting the landlord of the Trafford Arms on suspicion of cattle rustling (lol)

[x] Tyler inventing Chicken in a basket much to the disgust of the locals of the Trafford Arms.

[x] Gene finding it very hard to remain undercover - he just loves running that pub too much

[x] Another tick in the box for Ford Cortina's driving over the camera at high speed

[x] Gene having to go against everything he believes in (being a Man City fan) and singing some good old-fashioned Man United songs. Look at the disgust on his face :D

[x] Tyler: "We made you coffee..."
Gene: (slurs) "Up your arse!"

[x] Gene playing desk darts (his dartboard sporting a picture of the United team)

[x] Gene: "All right lads, tool up."
(Everyone else pulls out mallets, bats and bars from under the seats - Tyler naturally doesn't have anything)
Gene: "You got nothing?"
Tyler: (pats himself down) "No."
Gene: "Good luck then."

[x] 35p for a football ticket! 13p for a pint of Harp. Harp! Fantastic

[x] Test-Card Girl still creepy as shit.

[x] Tyler seeing his younger self (obviously all better form the mumps then)

Did you see the Next Week on Life on Mars trailer? Ooooooooooooooooooooooh!

Still no sliding over bonnets, although John Simm did say in this months Dreamwatch that he did do some. So there's still hope!

Sam: "Is that ethical?"

Gene: "Course it's not. It's vodka."

Hee hee!

It's so wonderfully written and Matthew Graham's writing on Who too which can only be of the good.

When has reminded me that I didn't mention the little Who reference. Oh this show is so wonderfully meta.

Seeing young Sam at the end was so well done. They didn't even have to say who he was. It was so well played.

And the preview of next week was totally 'OMG!' Is next week the last one?

Fortunately next week is not the last one – but there are only eight episodes in the series, which means three more to go. Waaah.

I'm loving this programme. It's just pure class. It's hysterically funny yet can be incredibly poignant at times.

I hope it comes out on dvd, because it's a must buy!

Brilliant brilliant episode! I loved Gene and Sam behind the bar like a bickering old married couple.

Another fab moment was Gene's 'I...am....a.....professional....policeman..." *slides to floor*.

But hey, Sam's admitted he's enlisted the help of 'Doctor Who' to sort out his time-travelling dilemma, so everything should be alright :)

You know, I am never home when "Life on Mars" is on, which annoys me, because it looks so good, and i can't tape it because there's another show on that i tape at the same time! *le grrr*

But i did get home in time to catch the trailer, and it looks awesome.
