kaliha: (Nearly Christmas? // (Ill. Ben Morris))

Nadolig Llawen everyone. And remember, I'll gratefully receive any coffee creme sweeties you don't want.

Christmas is cancelled in my household this year as His Lordship has a chest infection (and was forced to the doctors today for some super-strong amoxicillin), I've caught a really heavy cold thanks to His Lordship never putting his hand over his mouth when he sneezes or coughs (I'm so bringing home some dustmasks from work for future use) and even Bilbo has the sneezles (and looks accusingly at me as if it's my fault he's got a cold).

Woes.

I'm taking loads of preventitive cold and flu capsules, some vile tasting linctus and some leftover amoxicillin from the chest infection I had in the summer. Hopefully I will be better by Saturday. In any case I shall be standing very far away from a certain chap playing Aladdin so as not to give him my lurgy. (Everyone else will have to take the risk :P)

Erm, you should never take less than a full course of anti-biotics because your risk making your infection anti-biotic resistant. Just sayin'.

Tack a handie over HL's face or something. Or tell him even my three year old is capable of covering up.

Men! Sheesh.

Merry Christmas! And my best wishes for a happy and hopefully healthy new year. Thanks for your card! It arrived yesterday (good timing that) and it's so cute! I hope mine arrived safely.

:( I hope you all feel better soon. Maybe Santa will bring you all new respiratory systems. Or perhaps the Doctor will visit you in the TARDIS and you can go back and duct tape your husband's hand to his mouth so you won't catch his cold?

Nollaig shona.

That's worrying - I thought we were going to see Cinderella!! I think that was the one I went to about two years ago. D'oh.

Amoxicillin makes me very ill as I'm allergic to penicillin, and I feel I have to tell you off for not finishing your dose in the summer. You'll get immune to it. And I hope you feel better soon!

Also, have you tried Echinacea? I believe that's the wonder-cold-reducing herb of the moment.

For some reason in the summer the doctor gave me a two week course of amxicilin instead of one, so my 'leftovers' are in fact a full course. I certainly didn't need two weeks worth it wasn't that bad a chest infection.
