I really don't know what to say. I hope this emoticon :/ goes some way to showing to you how I feel about it. Will they have the scary Test Card Girl? (Did American telly even have anything like that?) If they'd taken the basic plot and then completely reimagined it then maybe it'll work but so much of the trailer is shot-by-shot of our version. And Chief O'Brien is just too nice to be the Gene Genie.

I'm not even going to bother looking at that US LoM trailer. It's bound to be horrible and cringe-worthy. Just because The Office was successfully made into a US version, the networks think that any acclaimed UK series can be remade over here. This may have worked a decade ago, before the internet allowed people to torrent overseas shows and more US cable networks began airing the originals, but it just isn't going to work 99% of the time these days!

US TV never had a scary Test Card Girl. Our test pattern was usually just the color bars. An older one had an Indian chief on it. But Indian chiefs aren't creepy like Test Card Girls. He could speak in riddles just fine, but no, not the same level of creepy.

I was so happy when I heard the US Spaced was axed! But I didn't even know about Life on Mars until I saw it on a different site today ughhhh. I watched the trailer and it looks so stupid! Why??? :(

If they didn't spend so much time and effort making crappy versions of UK TV shows that just get axed anyway (Viva Laughlin, Red Dwarf and Coupling, to name a few), actual good US shows like Journeyman and Firefly might have been around for more than a few episodes.

edit: I think I'm mostly mad that they took Journeyman away from me *cries*
