Look what we bought today:



I tell you, His Lordship shouldn't be allowed to go out shopping. It arrives in 8 weeks. All we have to do now is get rid of the old one. If I leave it on the drive, do you think someone will nick it like they did the washing machine?

However, the thought of having a comfortable sofa again fills me with joy.

2. If you lived in Canada, it'd be gone in 5 minutes. When we were moving a few years ago, we put furniture outside. As we'd take trips back to the house to bring more out, the old ones would be gone. lol

In London leaving stuff out front is the original freecycling.

I hope you measured the doorframes cos when my friend ordered a new sofa recently the salesman assured her it'd fit and then when the delivery men turned up they laughed, said he was always doing that, and suggested they could redeliver if she was willing to have her front window taken out temporarily (which she did). o_O

May your sofa be comfy and unarsedentable for many years to come. :-)

the arms come off it to get it through doors. So hopefully they won't need to take the window out to get it in.

We wrestled my friend's large three-seater sofa out through the door of her lounge and the front door in one piece and were therefore somewhat surprised that the new jobbie, which arrived in three pieces + one arm, wouldn't even fit in through the front door, heh. Not that I'm unforgivably trying to induce terrifying sofa-related paranoia in you and himself or anything but as my friend's story ended well we have the luxury of thinking it's hilarious... especially the bit when she asked the two delivery men what their names were and they said T and S and she replied without thinking, "The same as my two exes... of course they're both dead now...." (causing me to collapse in helpless giggles and have to retire to the kitchen to collect myself).
