Scattered thoughts on Saturday's Doctor Who

[x] Poor Rory, imagine having your Stag Do derailed by a bloke in tweed in your stripper!cake. And I can't believe the Doctor left that poor girl outside in her bikini. That's a bit harsh, but the Doctor's never really fully understood some of our more quirky human traditions has he?

[x] Yay for Rory getting on t'internet and reading some books to get a working knowledge of time travel. I hope he gets to use these skills in a future episode.

[x] Sadface at there being no "It's bigger on the inside."

[x] Wishes the Doctor did bump into Casanova (Tennant version) and wacky hijinks ensuing.

[x] Lots of nice visual touches like Rory gingerly moving away from the gunpowder and the cloak swishing anf Rory's big fight scene with a broom.

[x] OfSTED - Lol!

[x] Humbugs!

[x] When the Doctor was looking for a way to get into the school, I may have actually said "Climb the wall you silly eejit, there's plenty of handholds." Proof, if any was needed, that way too much time was spent watching Assassin's Creed 2 being played.

[x] The Doctor and Amy getting all excited at the thought of Vampires (while Rory was looking on thinking "and we're not running the other way because...") was a bit Tooth & Claw but it wasn't annoying - I think because it was over so quickly and wasn't a running theme through the episode.

[x] Venitian Canals are not that clean.

[x] My favourite exchange of the whole episode:

Rory: You kissed her back!
Doctor: No, I kissed her mouth.

In fact I loved a lot of the dialogue. I think it's one of Toby Whithouse's real strong points.

[x] The Cracks in the Universe are more wide reaching. Could they have been caused by the Time War? I know everything seems to the pointing to Amy being the cause, or did the Time War just keep it quiet for a while?

[x] The non-panicked extras during the OH NOES RAIN! scene made me smile. As did the Doctor accepting all the adulation. And the human Steward nicking off with all the silver.

[x] I had much costume!love this week. I do like a good corset and acres of silk.

I liked Rory's reaction because it was different - we all like the 'it's bigger on the inside!' bit so not having it was clever!

And I also like the fact that he's not going into this blind - it shows some crafty intelligence.

As for Amy's boys, don't we always say that women rule and men were just the trial run?!

The silence at the end of the ep was creepy - it's getting closer to them....

Maybe Gallifrey being dragged out of the Time War next to Earth caused the cracks i.e. Time War vs Non Time War timestream etc

Though knowing the Moff it'll be something funky and not what people expect.
