Went to see Peter Kay last night. And you know what? I really enjoyed myself.
I wasn't expecting Rick Astley to be the support act!! It was like it was 1987 all over again!
He doesn't dance as much as he used too back in the day, mind. He did a medley of songs from Manchester so there was Take That and Oasis and the like. And obviously he did Never Gonna Give You Up. (Does this count as a Rickroll?)
And in the middle of the song the keyboardist proposed (on one knee and everything!) to one of the backing singers and luckily she said yes. Hoorahs all round.
Then it was time for the main event
The strength of Peter Kay's comedy is that it reflects our life. Like the corner shop that sells everything or how rubbish home fireworks are (and how they always seem to fall over).
He was saying that he's take about six thousand pictures if his kids but only has about a dozen of him growing up because no one could be bothered with instamatic cameras and they were expensive.
His mum says thanks for the bungalow too.
My favourite bit was his mini rant on Sky TV in particular Grand Designs and Gok Wan's banger obsession and the feeling of panic you get when the box gets down to 4% free.
In conclusion
His comedy isn't for everyone but I enjoyed myself. 8/10
