David and Catherine Tate have today confirmed on BBC Breakfast that they will
be starring as Benedict and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing at the Wyndhams Theatre from 16th May 2011. http://tennantnews.blogspot.com/2011/01/david-to-star-in-much-ado-about-nothing.html

I WOULD SO COME.

However, I think the tickets are a)quite expensive and b)probably sold out by now :/

They're not quite sold out yet, as it's on for several months, but they are going fast. This morning I got two tickets for July 2nd, and my parents got two tickets for August 4th.

They are pricey though - top price tickets are £62.50. I imagine it will be worth every penny, however.

I know it's probably worth it, but the plane *tickets there and back* would cost me about the same, so I'm a bit hesitant...

Aha, yes, that certainly adds to the problem.

In fact, my ladyfriend tried to tell me not to bother getting the tickets when she saw how much they cost. But I am firmly of the view that a truly great play can be one of the greatest experiences of a lifetime, and knew she'd regret it forever if I didn't book (she's a Tennant fangirl, obv, and while she's not too keen on Donna, she loves everything else that Catherine Tate has ever done).

Obviously I know nothing of your financial circumstances, but in general I would advise you to take the plunge if there's any way you can afford to do so without actually starving.

Gah, I know you're right, and I *could* afford it, but it's a)probably too late now anyway and b) I'd need some company because I so don't want to squee alone ;/

So, er yeah, if anyone decides to go in august, I'm probably game.

Just a note on ticket prices - they're actually about the same as most London/West End shows...but yes, selling fast.

The ticket prices are too expensive for most people so it would be unfair on many,

However the Globe is doing a fab season this year including Much Ado if we fancy some Shakespeare and the building is DW related at least :D

I was going to say "yes, yes, a thousand times yes!", but then I looked at the ticket prices.

I'm going to have to stick with just Glee I think...

If everyone else was happy forking out to see them I would find the money, but there doesn't seem to be firm support.

We're already going to see Glee, so we're kind of having two meet ups, so something like the globe has my vote.
