Took Bilbo to the vets in our local petshop on Sunday. He wasn't very happy about it. We saw a really nice French vet who poked and prodded Bilbo mercilessly. Bilbo didn't take kindly to it and tried to take a chunk out of his forearm.
The good news was that he couldn't find a blockage or swelling or anything. And gave him an antibiotic shot and sent us home.
It didn't do anything for Bilbo and he still wasn't eating or drinking. So on Tuesday we took him to our vets and they gave him anti-inflammatories, vitamin B and antibiotics. That was three injections and he went willingly back into his cat box to escape them.
Then for two days he was fine. Eating and drinking again and all loving and snuggly until Thursday when he was sick all over the bedroom, in the living room, in the kitchen and at the bottom of the stairs. (Not all in one go I hasten to add.)
So Friday he was back at the vets again. He said that the anti-inflamatory he gave Bilbo only lasted for 48 hours which corresponds with when he got I'll again. He gave Bilbo a longer lasting one and he suspects that Bilbo may have a particularly stubborn tapeworm so gave him a shot to try and kill it and flush it out.
I'm to take him back in about a week to see how he's doing. He's started eating again today and actually ran into the kitchen to beg for tuna so he must be feeling better.
