I saw Hellboy
August 7th, 2008 08:42 pmI went to a special preview of Hellboy 2 on Tuesday. And because it was a) cheap night, b) I've got a student card and c)
jimboharris had a buy one get on free voucher I got to see it for the princely sum of £1.90!!! Most excellent! (Although the sweets and drink came to a fiver. Woes.)
Trailers
The Clone Wars: Saw it when I went to see Wall-E so nothing new there. Annie seems less annoying though which can only be a good thing.
Babylon AD: Vin Diesel transports the mother of the modern-day messiah to safety (or something). It looks a bit rubbish. Vin Diesel however, he could read the phonebook and I'd happily listen to him. I don't half love his voice.
Max Payne: Marky Mark (he'll always be Marky Mark to me) sports the furrowed brow he used to great effect in The Happening. It looks rather rubbish though. Sorry.
No Watchmen trailer. That made me sad in my face.
The Orange Film Pitch thing is STILL Rob Lowe. GET A NEW ONE ALREADY! Or at least bring back the Sean Astin one 'cos that's hella funny.
( spoilery spoilers right through here )
I also saw over the weekend:
Evan Almighty: Morgan Freeman was awesome as ever. But the film was, frankly, a bit rubbish. 3/10
Atonement: His Lordship perked up when Kiera Knightly jumped in the fountain in her undies. But was otherwise underwhelmed. As was I. I didn't really care about any of the characters, although the cinematography was very good. Especially the one-shot beach scene. (I didn't like the horses being shot though, that upset me) 4/10
Die Hard 4.0: Yippie-kai-aee (or however you spell it). Disappointed by the lack of dirty vest on show. McClane should have a graze covering 80% of his body plus have been killed at least twice during the film, but the man is indestructible. Liked the kid who was also in Jeepers Creepers whose name completely escapes me at the moment (I'm writing this while the internet is down). 7/10
