Life on Mars
February 27th, 2006 09:58 pmIt's the last one!! *cries*
[x] Pulling into rthe Victoria Park Hotel = slowest handbrake turn EVAR!
[x] So the secret's out on Daddy Tyler's whereabout. How vewwy interesting.
[x] Test card girl is so very scary. Even more so because she comes out the telly.
[x] Mixed metaphors. Sharks climbing ladders indeed.
[x] "Lavatorial thinking" *sniggers*
[x] I've just noticed that Gene and Sam have matching moles on their faces. Proof that they're an OTP.
[x] Gene: "I've got a pain in the arse called Sam."
[x] The Tylers have exactly the same clock in their lounge as my parents do in their dining room. It's so seventies it hurts.
[x] Gene suggesting that Tyler boff his own mum.
[x] Gene Genie
[x] Gene to Tyler: "Am I still getting my wotsits mixed up Gladys?"
Tyler: "Naw, you're alright. That's a similie."
[x] Woe. Tyler's dad makes porn. How very Shifnal.
[x] How sweet were the Tyler's playing football in the park? Just a shame they're both Man Uscummers supporters.
[x] Tyler: "You'll know when I'm kidding. My bowtie'll start spinning around."
[x] Playschool!!
[x] Gene (to a scantily-clad nun): "You've got your vicar's in a twist."
[x] On Her Majesty's Secret Cervix = lol!
[x] Sam's tree-filled dream becomes clear. Annie! nooooooooo.
[x] Baby!Sam: "Have you seen my daddy?"
[x] How long did it take you to figure out that Vic Tyler and the Morton Brothers were the same person? I guessed from the porn film and I'm not the brightest of people to figure out twists either. :)
[x] Don't give him the gun Sam!
[x] Sam should have arrested his dad. Did he never watch Quantum Leap? You're supposed to not let history repeat itself. How's he going to leap home now? Sam really needs an Al to keep him in check. The Gene Genie is not enough.
[x] John Simm really does good crying. Very manly.
[x] Pubs, not tea, make everything better.
Awww, I really enjoyed that. It's ages 'till next year now.
Oh God, it's ages until our next visit from a time travelling Tyler. Woe.

Date: Monday, February 27th, 2006 10:25 pm (UTC)I would have thought that that would have been Gene's kind of thing although after that comment tonight I'm not so sure!
Throw in a pint though and he may be more interested. :D

Date: Monday, February 27th, 2006 10:23 pm (UTC)- Loved Sam's "May the force be with you"
- "Have you seen my Daddy?" may have been cute had DW memories not made it sound just creepy.
- "Sam should have arrested his dad. Did he never watch Quantum Leap? You're supposed to not let history repeat itself. How's he going to leap home now? Sam really needs an Al to keep him in check. The Gene Genie is not enough."
Having watched more QL than is probably healthy lately I was thinking exactly the same thing. This Sam is clearly not as smart as other Sam. Although to be fair, other Sam also screwed up quite a lot when his family was involved. Al would've kicked this Sam's butt into gear by now. (This could leave to a crazy crossover fic but I'm not going to go there).
- Was it ever made clear what happened to Sam's girlfriend back in 2006?
- Hasn't Sam created a paradox? If he didn't follow his Dad into the woods and see him beating Annie, then he wouldn't have the memory so he wouldn't know to follow his Dad into the woods and save Annie!
- The end of the series is both a good and bad thing. Bad because no more series. Good because I'm truely starting to think that marrying Gene Hunt would be kind of cool and I think that signals my brain needs a break.

Love the icon, btw!

Date: Monday, February 27th, 2006 11:42 pm (UTC)As I said, ITV3 have reminded me recently why I loved QL so much. And I appreciate it more now than when I firts saw it. It really was a superb show - a great mix of sci-fi, comedy and drama.
Someone on a QL com was inspired to make it from

Date: Tuesday, February 28th, 2006 02:10 am (UTC)And I'm so pleased there's going to be a next series. It would have been a bit of a cop-out (pun not intended) if everything was suddenly back to normal.

Date: Tuesday, February 28th, 2006 01:07 am (UTC)I couldn't figure out why Sam didn't arrest his Dad. After all, he surely realised that if he let him go, history would just repeat itself? But of course, maybe it was quite literally impossible for him to change history :(
