I have many squeey thoughts related to this and you covered most of them but...

- Loved Sam's "May the force be with you"

- "Have you seen my Daddy?" may have been cute had DW memories not made it sound just creepy.

- "Sam should have arrested his dad. Did he never watch Quantum Leap? You're supposed to not let history repeat itself. How's he going to leap home now? Sam really needs an Al to keep him in check. The Gene Genie is not enough."

Having watched more QL than is probably healthy lately I was thinking exactly the same thing. This Sam is clearly not as smart as other Sam. Although to be fair, other Sam also screwed up quite a lot when his family was involved. Al would've kicked this Sam's butt into gear by now. (This could leave to a crazy crossover fic but I'm not going to go there).

- Was it ever made clear what happened to Sam's girlfriend back in 2006?

- Hasn't Sam created a paradox? If he didn't follow his Dad into the woods and see him beating Annie, then he wouldn't have the memory so he wouldn't know to follow his Dad into the woods and save Annie!

- The end of the series is both a good and bad thing. Bad because no more series. Good because I'm truely starting to think that marrying Gene Hunt would be kind of cool and I think that signals my brain needs a break.

You can always tell a sci-fi fan by the fact that they recognise a paradox when they see it!

Lol! Yup you can tell I'm a sci-fi girl. The writers are gonna have to be more careful next series :D

As I said, ITV3 have reminded me recently why I loved QL so much. And I appreciate it more now than when I firts saw it. It really was a superb show - a great mix of sci-fi, comedy and drama.

Someone on a QL com was inspired to make it from __kali__'s Reasons Why I Love The Doctor icons :D

I used to love QL, had the biggest crush on Scott Bakula for the longest time (loved that little grey bit in his hair for some reason), but I haven't seen it in years.

The writers are gonna have to be more careful next series :D
And I'm so pleased there's going to be a next series. It would have been a bit of a cop-out (pun not intended) if everything was suddenly back to normal.

Oh my gosh, the football moment was just the cutest thing ever! Sam was just so happy :D Awwwwwww :D
I couldn't figure out why Sam didn't arrest his Dad. After all, he surely realised that if he let him go, history would just repeat itself? But of course, maybe it was quite literally impossible for him to change history :(
