Innuendo Bingo for Deathly Hallows

In non Harry Potter news, Bilbo is limping again and for no obvious reason. His paw isn't damaged in anyway and there's no swelling along his leg joints or (as much as we can feel) along his hip. This is concerning and may need a visit to the V E T S.

That's it, ten long years and it's all over. It feels a bit strange.

It's nice to see that the internets is still here, but I think the real wank is yet to come.

Trundled off to Tescos at midnight to go and pick up my copy. They are very bad kitties because they were selling the book for a tenner (and not a fiver like they were advertising - but I couldn't be arsed to head off to the 24 Asda with is miles away). The place was absolutely heaving, they had two massive pallets of books (in one each adult and childrens editions) by the doors and there were people literally running to get their copies and reading them in the queue to pay and everything. Then back home to a cuppa and my bed to make a start on it. I wasn't going to rush it (after reading HBP in about four hours), but I read pretty much continuously until 5.30am (with occassional breaks for more tea and chocolate) until I could barely keep my eyes open. (Hey, I'm getting on a bit, I can't pull all-nighters like you young'uns). Back up again just after 8am to finish it off. In total about 6 hours to read it (including tea breaks and feeding Bilbo and stuff).

spoilers, lots and lots of Deathly Hallows spoilers including actual quotes and stuff - mostly in bullet points )

In conclusion: I liked it. 7/10 And less than three hours sleep is not good for you. I feel like death warmed up (and probably don't look too disimilar)

And am now prepared for the last book. (Note to self, must buy more tissue) Spoil me and you will suffer terribly for it.

Jokingly asked my boss today if I could have Friday afternoon off as holiday so I could go home and nap, allowing me to stay up all night reading DH. He turned me down. What a meanie!

Thursday had us on an away-evening to the ever-lovely Star City to go to see Harry Potter (well if you want to see something on the big screen you might as well watch it on a big screen that's even bigger than your house)

Because we went a day before everyone else it wasn't that busy, even less so because it was still a school night. Even so, we ended up with a bunch of chair kickers sitting behind us. You can drive a bleeding Segway down the rows - there is enough legroom for your feet so that you don't kick the back of my chair EVERY FIVE MINUTES!!!! (Sorry, bit of a CAPSLOCK!Harry moment there)

thar be spoilers - but only if you've not read the book! )

I have to say I did rather enjoy it. I think they are now finally hitting their stride and I'm quite looking forward to the next film (less so if the rumour of them introducing new, random characters who aren't in the books is true though)

8/10

Well Done.

I am somewhat nervous about Tesco's threats to sell the Deathly Hallows early. Not that I won't get a copy but that I'll end up being inadvertantly spoilt on my way home from work if it is released early. After all scumbags in Telford do have a habit of spoiling Harry Potter books the day they come out. Ooh that takes me back. Took me ages to find that 2-year old news story too. But I reckon the Bedsheet Spoiler will be out in force when the book is finally released, after all they did get on Sky News and BBC news with their antics. They want their fame.

Reading update: Have just finished Order of the Phoenix today, so will be starting on Half Blood Prince just before I go to bed, giving me 4 days in which to read it before Friday night.
