Randomly linked: one of the kids down our street had got one of those wind-up flying Rex's. It's rather cute. And it flies really well.
Oh Sky+ you really are made of awesome.
( Spoilahs )
TV related randomness:
They're making a TV show based on X Factor. FAIL.
Pushing Daisies on actual proper telly. WIN!!! Please, please please watch it when ITV start showing it.
I LOVE Ant and Dec! If you can dodge a spanner you can dodge a ball!

Cloverfield! Cloverfield!!!!
February 13th, 2008 07:23 pmWent to the cinema at the weekend to see Cloverfield. Unfortunately due to lack of money we had to go the Chav Central fleapit rather than making the extra effort and going to Star City.
Trailers
Doctor Who Series 4: ( spoilers )
Iron Man: I'd completely forgot that this was soon to be coming out. Not sure if I'm liking Robert Downey Jr's facial hair. The trailer seemed to have been cut in that rather depressing chronological order
Star Trek: the one that's been on the internets for a bit now.
Jumper: I think I'm going to willingly go and see a film with emo!Vader in. And after I swore not to as well. But it does look good.
( The Main Feautre – here be monsters (and spoilers) )
In conclusion, really enjoyed it and would like to see it again when it comes out on DVD just so I can slo-mo a lot of the half-glimpsed moments.
8/10
If you liked this then I heartily recommend The Host to you.
Meanwhile I've been watching a bit of telly too:
Planetes
Finally finished Planetes over the weekend. I really really liked it, so much so I'm going to see if I can track down the boxset after next payday. It got dismissed by my other half for being boring because it wasn't full of fighting and explosions and stuff (he caught about 10 minutes of an episode once), but I'm full of squishy love for the characters.
8/10 over all for the series
S-cry-ed
( possible spoilers )6/10 overall for the series
Primeval
( possible spoilers )6/10

January 19th, 2008 04:10 pmJohnny Depp, a truly lovely bloke

llembas: A deserted Japanese island The photos are just stunning
Proof our fandom can be a lovely place - sadly none of my RL friends understand my strange love. Woes.
Floods = rubbish Driving home on Thursday night the flood water fromthe river was about 4 inches below the road. That makes the river a good 2 metres higher than normal.
Finally! I can buy a Simon Pegg action figure! Oh payday - why are you so far away. Still waiting for the Tim and Daisy figures though. Waiting in vain it seems. Forbidden Planet also have the Primeval action figures, but there's no sign of Connor. :( Even Lester has an action figure. Bod.
